Skin rejuvenation procedures such as laser treatments, chemical peels, intense pulsed light (IPL) and radiofrequency (RF) microneedling are central to many aesthetic practices. While they provide incredible results, downtime can be a barrier to treatment for many patients. Because of this, pre- and postprocedure skincare is essential to reducing recovery time while enhancing patient outcomes.

“I think the biggest limitation with any type of laser or resurfacing procedure is the downtime,” explained Sabrina Fabi, MD, a dermatologist, dermatologic cosmetic surgeon and owner of Cosmetic Laser Dermatology (San Diego, Calif.). “I use Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar to reduce the look of redness and downtime. My patients appreciate a shorter recovery and enhanced results.” She added that enhancing patient satisfaction can also lead to return visits and repeat procedures.

Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar with TriHex Technology® is a pre- and post-procedure skincare technology used to help strengthen skin ahead of cosmetic procedures and optimize treatment outcomes. Along with TriHex Technology to help clear damaged elastin and collagen, Regenerating Skin Nectar contains arnica montana extract to support calm skin, naringenin with panthenyl triacetate to reduce the appearance of redness and potent antioxidants for pigment concerns.

Dr. Fabi reported that she uses Regenerating Skin Nectar for every collagen-stimulating procedure including non-ablative and ablative laser treatments. “One of the goals of anti-aging treatments is to stimulate collagen production. Regenerating Skin Nectar supports the removal of broken down collagen and elastin fibers from the skin matrix for a healthy, optimized dermis, which supports results from energy-based treatments,” she explained. “We also found in our clinical trial that this treatment is more cosmetically appealing than the ointments commonly used after resurfacing procedures.”1

According to Dr. Robb, there are three effects that TriHex Technology has on the skin. “First, TriHex clears out damaged collagen and elastin. Second, it helps promote collagen and elastin production and seems to synergize with the laser treatments. Last, and probably the most important to our patients, TriHex continues to support healthy skin after we have invested in correction with our lasers or devices.” He added that he also uses it to treat the neck. “While lasers treat the face, the neck reveals your age. TriHex is a nice option for improving the look of skin age and damage on the neck and chest,” he mentioned.

“Once you have corrected a skin concern with energy- or laser-based treatments, skincare becomes 100% important in maintaining your results (and investment),” Dr. Robb continued. “Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar with TriHex Technology was thoughtfully constructed to prepare and maintain the healthy look of the skin, and is formulated using natural peptides, which my patients prefer. And most importantly, they love the results.”
